New 6 track 40 plus minute recording from Vancouver, WA one-man synth-rack project BRIZBOMB. 1107 is BRIZBOMB’s follow-up to the mind-blowing 0909 LP from 2010, and is a continuation of the drone-synth explorations of said album, yet the 6 tracks contained herein stand on their own as the even heavier, intense, and forward-thinking children of its predecessor. All tracks were recorded using an 1.8 meter tall, 147 kilo (5’10″, 325+ pound) rack (click here for complete gear listing) and all audio was generated live with no edits, no overdubs, no computer, no keyboards, no sequencing, no samples, and no pre-recorded material.

FAB011 ADRIANVARALLYAY/STRNGLV Split c-45

New collaborative split cassette between mysterioso noise-maker ADRIANVARALLYAY and psychotropical ambient sound collagist STRNGLV. ADRIANVARALLYAY is a Brooklyn-based experimenal musician and is the mastermind behind COVERED IN DIAMONDS AND JEWELS whose self-titled cassette was Fabrica’s second official release. Using an astounding amount of analog effect pedals, contact mics, bass guitar and other resonant objects like metal pipes, he makes heavily delayed psychedelic ambient noise. STRNGLV is the child of NJ-native Sean Keane, a collagist of both sound and image (check out some his prints here), and this is his second release with Fabrica (and definitely not the last). On this occasion, STRNGLV provides us with a single-side track of post-industrial ambient drenched in tribal, komische and sound cut-ups created by synth, circuit bent effects, and tape loops.

Pekka Airaksinen started making music in the late 1960s with the group the Sperm, combining performance art with experimental music of the day. Official reissue of TG’s fourth official album. Originally released in 1980, Heathen Earth is a crucial live document of industrial pioneers Throbbing Gristle. In member Chris Carter’s own words: “You had to have been there. Which is what we always say about TG. TG on record and TG live are two completely different things.” This album is probably the closest approximation of the two you’ll ever get: it’s a “live in-studio recording” made in front of a small audience and the event was filmed by Monte Cazzaza with the intention of also releasing it on video. The majority of the set is instrumental, fluctuating between the raw electronics of their early work and the band’s more melodic material. Tracks include a rework of early classic “After Cease To Exist” and Brion Gysin fave “Dreammachine.”

TAJ MAHAL TRAVELLERS August 1974 2xLP (Phoenix)
Originally issued as a double LP with each of the 4 tracks being roughly the same length as the side of a record, August 1974 presents the Taj Mahal Travellers at their most sophisticated. Although their stunning cosmic music was always improvised, the band, formed in 1969 by “six meta-music creators and one electronic engineer” played regularly throughout Japan and eventually found their way to Europe where they met up with avant-garde musicians such as Don Cherry. 1974 would be the band’s last official release as they went their separate ways the following year with all but Takehisa Kosugi, leaving music behind them. Each track is distinct from the others, with several beginning with clearly-defined structure before departing into the realms of the abstract, with violin, harmonica, bass, tuba, trumpet and mandolin dueting in a subliminal and obscure manner. “Voices” both subhuman and supernatural, resonate with a universal inner voice. COUM TRANSMISSIONS Sugarmorphoses LP (DAIS)
This installment in the COUM story entitled Sugarmorphoses was recorded in 1974 by Genesis P-Orridge within the COUM headquarters, joyfully known as the Ho Ho Funhouse, and is one of the most far-flung, experimental recordings related to COUM. This recording consists of Genesis’s candid kitchen recordings of solo broken piano improvisations accompanied by P-Orridge’s own reel to reel experiments using old tape dating back to 1965, from which a young Neil Megson made countless field recordings and homework dictations. Playful, chaotic, imaginative, and historic. Limited to 1000.

 GRUPPO NPS Nuove Proposte Sonore 1965-1972 LP (Die Schachtel)
The NPS — Nuove Proposte Sonore (trans. “New Sound Proposals”) group was founded in Padua (Italy) in 1964 by the composer Teresa Rampazzi, together with the visual artist Ennio Chiggio. Working with analogical devices, they produced some of the most compelling electronic music of the period, and they soon became one of the most reputed electronic music centers in Italy, together with the S 2 FM by Pietro Grossi in Florence and the SMET by Enore Zaffiri in Turin. With the departure of Chiggio, the years 1969-1970 transformed it into a female-only collective (Teresa Rampazzi, Serenella Marega and Patrizia Gracis). The two periods were characterized by different instrumentation, and it is surprising how they were able to achieve great results with some simple means — at least in the beginning. This deluxe edition presents the group’s compositions for the first time ever. The LP comes in a silver-foil design, including a booklet in Italian and English in an edition of 300 copies.

ORCUTT, BILL How The Thing Sings LP (Editions Mego)
Yet another essential cracking new set of songs from Bill Orcutt, showcasing a further development of his unique visceral acoustic style. The language that Orcutt uses looks familiar at first glance, but cut deeper and its myriad of twisted audio thats both full on and drenched in melancholy, usually in the same gasping breath. While a lot of it is the classic face melting style, some quieter segments counter balance on the title track as well the epic closer ‘A Line From Ol’Man River’ and ‘Heaven Is Closed To Me Now’.
